DECEMBER COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITIES

We have several opportunities to volunteer this month for community service events.

1). Make and drop off lap blankets to keep seniors in our community warm this winter. The cost of electricity has gone up and many seniors will be unable to keep their houses warm. I do Meals on Wheels often and have had several seniors answer their doors with their winter jackets on. They would love their own lap blanket! You are welcome to knit, crochet, or make a no sew/tie fleece blanket.

No sew/tie throws are available at JOANN Fabrics (2 for $12). https://www.joann.com/blue-plaid-make-it-give-it-no-sew-throw/19027473.html

You can also pick the fleece blanket kits up at my house for $6.00 each. Just let me know you will be coming by and I will put them out for you.

Please turn in the throws by Friday, December 23, 2022 to the Constantian House

21361 Vista Estate Drive, Lake Forest or Newell House 5 Carriage Drive, Foothill Ranch.

(Three hours for each blanket-Max 3 hours).

2). Volunteer at RSM Cares next Wednesday, December 14, 2022 4:30-7:30 or the following Wednesday, December 21, 4:30-7:00 pm. We will be working in the area where people in need pick up canned food/supplies. We only have openings for five volunteers so please contact me at thhspepsquadcommunityservice@gmail.com to sign up.

(Each day will count as 3 hours of volunteer hours, please only sign up for one day so more people can volunteer).

3). Make a treat (cookies, brownies, muffins…etc.) for a community helper such as a teacher, medical professional, coach, police officer, firefighter, crossing guard, or even an elderly neighbor. Please take a picture of your daughter delivering the treats and email it to thhspepsquadcommunityservice@gmail.com

Please deliver treats by Dec 23, 2022.

(Will count as 3 hours of volunteer hours, Max 3 hours).

 ————-

You can do all three of these events for 3 hours each (total of 9 community service hours), two of them (total of 6 community service hours), or one of them (for three community service hours).
